Why does my wireless connection drop when I plug in my flash drive?

I'm running Windows XP and have a USB wireless adapter. If I plug in my flash drive while I'm connected to the wireless my connection drops. To get it back I have to unplug the flash drive and unplug and plug back in the wireless adapter. Why are they conflicting? I should be able to use both.

It appears that your computer is having trouble with the USB port. First try using different ports for both the adapter and the drive. If you dont have any luck I would then try reinstalling your wireless card driver. To do this go to the Control Panel and select Device Manager. Find your wireless card from the list and uninstall the driver. Then insert the disc that came with the card and install it again. If this doesnt work try using different flash drives. Also try doing a registry cleanup and defrag. If all else fails and you cant find a solution you could try reinstalling your OS.
Reply:doing this causes a USB conflict (common, dont know why). get a hub and see if that helps
Reply:you should be able to use both unless windows is having issues with the usb controllers.

have you checked in device manager to check all are installed and happy/ok - may need updating/resinstalling of the drivers for each device

could be anything when comes to windows!!!!

i would Google and see if there is a known conflict between the brands of the flash drive and the usb adapter

also give microsoft a call and see if they know of any known clashes/issues with these devices with there os.
