Do you think a full flash website would be good for an online store?

I have been on here before and mentioned I am opening an online bridal shop. I wanted to do a full flash website to make it look really attractive. I have already got a quote to have this done and the price is good, so there is no concern there.

Some people have just said it's not good for an online store to have a full flash website. I just thought this way the products can be shown in and attractive way and it would look more professional.

What do you think? I really need some advice on this.

Do you think a full flash website would be good for an online store?
Well, it depends on your targetted customers' computer specifications or internet speed. Or how often you will update your website.

Usually, it would be better to provide both kinds like flash and some kind of HTML.

I remembered one time I had trouble visiting a website is a full flash. It took a long time to get inside. And friends on internet complaining that they could visit the ASUS website properly when running on a 56K modem. hehe

Anyway, it would be best to take reference of websites and make your own choices. Or leave it to the web designer to employ, give your specifications. He/She will do the work ;)!
Reply:Flash is cool but it works best on the lastest fastest computers, for anyone else it can be highly annoying or inaccessible, some people don't want to dowmload the flash and you may lose alot o potential customers because of it however I have seen sites that have 2 options, one to view with flash and the other not to and this may be your best bet.
Reply:If you are trying to sell something, you want the widest possible audience. Using flash will reduce the size of your audience. Personally, I love flash and have created lots of websites for fun that rely upon it, but not everyone can see it. I do agree that you can do some terrific stuff with it, but unless you have done some test or study to determine your core audience and know that the vast majority of those who will make a purchase can see a flash based site I would choose an alternative.

Alternatives would be creating a flash and non-flash site. Dropping flash totally in favor of dhtml. Or something else that I am sure exists out there.
