I always seem to blink whenever someone uses a camera flash and my eyes always ends up closed in photos. Is there a way to overcome this so I can take photos with my eyes open?
How can I overcome blinking when photos are taken with a flash?
The flash is way quicker than your reflexes, so you are anticipating the flash and blinking just before the person takes the photo.
Tell them to change the timing of when they push the button to take the photo so you don't know when they are going to do it. For example they can count to 10 and take the photo at 4 one time and 7 another time and 12 another time, etc.
Also, have them take several photos, as close together as the flash recharging will allow. You are less likely to blink in all of them than you are in the first one.
The best solution is to have them take candid photos, following you around and taking tons of photos when you are busy doing something so you aren't paying attention to them.
Reply:remove the dread and anticipation, keep your eyes peeled even if it temporarily blinds you... I do that all the time... ^____^
Reply:Hm. this happens to everyone. Just try not to blink, pretend that you are playing a staring contest. I blink before the picture is taken so I don't blink when it is taken.
Reply:My suggestion is to close your eyes until they are ready to take the pic. Have them count to three before taking the picture. Close your eyes and when they say two, open them. It takes a min for your eyes to readjust to the light of opening your eyes and there fore when the flash goes off, your eyes will still be adjusting and you wont blink. Trust me it works!
Reply:this happens when you are very conscious. tell someone to take your pictures naturally .you need not pose. take pictures casually and come out of this habit.
Reply:expect the photographer don't use flash
Reply:Not really
Reply:I myself look right above the camera ... it also looks better ... like proffesional photography
