I have photographed my two little dogs (they have very similar geneology as they are brother and sister) and under identical circumstances their eyes have different colours in reaction to the camera flash. You have heard of "red eye", one of my pups gets the classic red eye reaction however my other one gets a green eye reaction, even when they are standing next to each other in the same shot. I have heard that the green eye reaction can indicate a possible problem with the eyes with cataracts in later life. Can anyone confirm that or perhaps explain the difference?
Question about dogs eyes that react differently to a camera flash?
Dogs have an extra part in the eye that reflects the light, where humans have a reflection of just the retina. Your dog should have the greenish reaction, not the red one.

Reply:are they different breeds? if they are, then thats probably why. but just to be safe maybe you should go to the vet. i don't think is major, cuz my pug gets green eyes in pics.
