On one file, I already have a flash page saying now loading and I need to make a loading bar. I have made one before, which is simple but there was one layer called 'contents' which it goes about loading that one frame (which contained a 150kb picture), this was in the tutorial. But my other file has many other layers and frames, not just one. How would I go about making a loading bar that would load the contents from another flash file I have created?

well there is two different ways... if the other movie is large %26gt;500kb, you should use:
movieClipLoader with listeners like onLoadProgress to check the loading, which can then be tied to a loading bar with percents and the ._xscale command
if it is a smaller movie, simply use the loadMovie command, because that should take too long to load(unless you're on dial-up or something)
btw, it doesnt matter how many layers or frames the movie has when you're trying to load it, you should be loading the .swf into the other flash movie

After creating one leg symbol, (by drawing the leg, selecting it and then right clicking to make it a symbol) , just drag another instance of the leg symbol onto the stage from the library. Be sure to put the new instance on its own layer.

I recently purchased a 2.0 GB Sandisk Cruzer Micro USB Flash Drive with U3. This is my first time using a flash drive, so I don't know what to do. I need to know how to save, open files and everything. Tell me everything you know about flashdrives and tips on do's and don'ts. Thanks.
How to operate a flash drive?
Stick it in the USB port.
For some, a window will pop up, showing you what's in your flash drive. If this doesn't happen, right-click on START and click Explore. Then go down to the bottom on the left somewhere and you should either see the name of your drive or something like "removeable disk" or something like that. Click it, and that will be the window that shows what is on your flash drive.
Keep that window up. Now, open My Documents or where-ever the thing is that you want on it and click and drag that item to the window of your flash drive. It will then save it onto the flash drive.
When you are done, I guess you can just pull out the drive, but its better to eject it. If you see a little icon in the task bar at the bottom right corner where the clock is that looks like a gray box with a little green arrow, right-click that and click Safely Remove Hardware. Then when the box comes up, choose your flash drive and click stop and then okay and then okay again. Then you can take it out.
If you have something on your drive that you wantto save onto your computer, stick it into the USB port. Go to that same place in the explore START menu that you went before. Right-click on what you want to save and select "send to..." and then like My Documents or whatever. Then just remove the drive.
That's about it.

I presume you do not have the install disk for flash.
If you copy it across it will not work. The only way I can think of is to make an image of your c:\ drive with a program like Norton ghost or Acronis then clone the other PC. This will make both PC the same. But the PC you are cloning may have problems on booting due to different motherboard memory and processes
but your windows disk may sort it out if you have one

How would i be able to move adobe flash cs3 to my other computer?

I presume you do not have the install disk for flash.
If you copy it across it will not work. The only way I can think of is to make an image of your c:\ drive with a program like Norton ghost or Acronis then clone the other PC. This will make both PC the same. But the PC you are cloning may have problems on booting due to different motherboard memory and processes
but your windows disk may sort it out if you have one

I have some text that I created in Photoshop CS2 that has a few layer effects and I want to place that text into Macromedia Flash 8. I also want to somehow make the text move. Any help is appreciated!

they sell an eye solution it's drops, and it really really helps. i don't know what it's called but call a welding supply company out of the phone book, and they should know. try a slice of raw potato, place a slice over each eye. a thin slice, so that it lies down in the contour of the eye socket. it keeps the eye moist, and the starch in it somehow pulls the heat and scratchy feeling out. best bet is sleep. sleep helps more than anything. i know, i built dept. of trans. dumptruck beds for years, and i've burned my eyes umpteen times. but the drops work, too. good luck.

Could anyone tell me how you could achieve the "closing in" "closing out" transition effect seen in this website?
I mean when you go to the main page and click "Design" for example, the page sort of blacks out slowly, loads the page, then slowly it appears. It doesn't seem as simple as just fading in and out, it seems to be similar to stage curtains opening and closing.

Reply:Frame animation? Don't think so. Frame animation will not run so smooth like that. Furthermore, it will increase your swf size—something that you have to consider when building flash for web use.
I think it's done by actionscript. Flash has included a transition class since Flash MX 2004 (if I'm not mistaken). I am not yet got into this thing, so visit the link below or search the net. The point is it's done by actionscripting.

Could anyone tell me how you could achieve the "closing in" "closing out" transition effect seen in this website?

Reply:Frame animation? Don't think so. Frame animation will not run so smooth like that. Furthermore, it will increase your swf size—something that you have to consider when building flash for web use.

Is there a universal USB Flash Driver driver that I can install for Windows XP?
I got a retarded usb flash drive and it won't work. Don't try to help me I already posted for help and everything that people reply to me it doesn't help. I know its my dumb *** computer because the flash drives work perfectly fine on others. I just need a software that will allow my WINDOWS XP to recognize my USB Flash drives. I tried going to their websites but those are only for WINDOWS 98 and won't allow me to download them.

I need to noe the impact that the flash drive has made on the world, this includes but is not limited to economy, daily use, sales, convenience, change in the way we store things. It could also include the environmental impacts and the rise in its popularity or a combination of all the above.
This report is incredibly professional so it would help if u posted a site from which u get ur information from. Wikipedia is not an option.

Before flash drives, there were large capacity alternatives like zip drives which held 100mb and newer models which held 250mb and tape drives which held many GB. No matter the medium, you are simply using a device to transfer files and that is how you should present it. Try and find a small but very good flashlight (LED) type work real good.

I want to be able to install a driver, and then copy the correctly setup driver to a flash disk or cd, etc., so I can install it into a computer without running an install program. What would cause both my turn signals to flash at the same time?
when i put on my signal (left or right) the front flashes properly but both of my rear signal lights flash at the same time.
I have a '93 Buick Regal

Pull the bulbs out, inspect them, clean them and reinstall using new bulb grease in each socket. Make sure the sockets and bulbs are corrosion free. If they are corroded, clean them with ELECTRIC PARTS CLEANER. CFC makes a cleaner for this that won't hurt the plastic coating of the wiring. Keep it off the car's paint.
IF the problem goes away, you are done. IF not, turn the blinkers on and off, checking both sides. You may find one blown or weak, replace as necessary. If you aren't sure, move the bulbs to other sockets and retest.
If none of this corrects the problem, pull the switch and replace it. Some auto parts stores have the capability to test the switch, ask them to before purchasing a new switch.

The light sockets were corroded and 3 had to be replaced.
Other than that all I can think of is a short somewhere.

Good luck, though! Your best bet is to have someone who knows about cars look at it. Otherwise people are just guessing as to the problem.

When I was watching the jets fly @ the air and sea show. I noticed sometimes a circle of air would flash around the aircraft.. Does anyone know why that happens/ what it is?

It's actually just the air passing over the wings of the aircraft moving at an incredible rate of speed. At air shows the aircraft hardly ever break the sound barrier so I doubt it was that....but possible. And when it's a big circle around the midsection of the aircraft that's when they are about to break the sound barrier. Pretty cool isnt it!

I'm not entirely sure here, but it may not be possible for imbedded content (such as a flash movie), to play inside an iframe.
I should mention though that with the advent of IE 7, iframes are no longer supported, so you might consider using another method for displaying that content. Is there any particular reason you've got it set in an iframe?

Is it a bahaviour or action? Unlike other design software I use, transitioning tranparencies are easy to create since they usually have a menu item. But I'm new to Flash and I'm stumped with how to do this. I've looked it up in the manual and tutorials, I've checked every scroll down menu in the program that I'm familiar with it must be so obvious that I'm missing it. I've seen published flash movies online (banners etc. .. ) and sites that have graphical transparencies set in motion etc. . . What's the correct Flash term for this feature? Please help!

If you chose to turn it on or off for your own composition, have the metering dial set for "A" and hold down the button. As you hold down the button, roll the wheel on the upper right of the back. You will see symbols for auto flash, no flash, and auto flash with redeye reduction.
On a N55, N60,N65, or N75, I'm pretty sure they operate the same way, but as I pull out my old film Nikons, I find the batteries are dead! I'll verify that info for you later.

Can you take flash photography at a concert?
Im going to a Panic At The Disco concert in May and I want to know if the flash photography bothers the band or not... There's flashing lights already anyways... So can I use flash?

All venues are different: some allow it, others do not. Some places do not allow photography at all. Today, however, most places do allow flash photography, so more than likely it should be fine. The only times where flash photography is usually prohibited is at a play, ballet, or other place where the people on stage need lots of focus.
To be sure, check the venue's website and see their policies.
Reply:Even if you can, using a point and shoot the flash only travels about 10 feet, so you'll just light up the atmosphere and not get the band. The lights on stage are usually as bright as sunlight. Turn off the flash,use a high ISO, hold your canera stable (not at arms length), exhale and shoot.

If you can then you want to get as close to the band as possible cause your flash will not reach them from far away. Also, be aware that even with your flash it will still be difficult to capture a good picture since it will be so dark... you need slow shutter speeds to capture good photos in the dark, but because of all the movement you will come out with blurry photographs.

Reply:As already mentioned, if you have a small compact camera rather than dSLR with external flash, the light you'll produce will be pretty ineffective.
As has also been mentioned, a slow shutter speed will result in blurry images which isn't necessarily a bad thing depending on what you're trying to capture and the movement is mostly of the artist rather than the stage as a whole.
My advice would be to set your camera to "Shutter Priority" (normally the S or T setting) and shoot no slower than 1/10 second. The camera will adjust the other parameters as best it can to accomodate that shutter speed.
Shoot lots.
Have an experiment before the concert with various ISO settings as the higher you go, the greater the detrimental effect on image quality. See how high is acceptable to you before the image becomes too grainy.

A battery operated flash bulb and a recording of a gunshot would be keyed simultaneously when unwanted pets are on your property. The device could be keyed remotely or with a motion sensor.

Why does my digital point and shoot camera need the flash to take good action shots?
When I take pictures of my kids in action, the background is fine but the kids are a big blur.
I've tried setting the ISO to 800 manually and taking pictures without the flash and they are a little better than when on auto or kids and pets setting, but still have some blurring. I would like to not HAVE to use flash because of the slow flash recharge time.
I have a Canon Powershot A530.

Why does my digital point and shoot camera need the flash to take good action shots?
Welcome to the compromise of compact cameras. You're learning the limits of your aperture. The Canon A-series cams have very decent aperture ranges in general, but there's only so much you can expect from a camera that goes down to f2.6 (or worse, f5.5 if you're zoomed in close). What happens is that there's just not enough light coming in through the lens to keep shutter speeds fast enough to capture fast-moving children. Often you need to be able to hit shutterspeeds of 1/120 second or greater to freeze a kid. You need lots of light for that, like outdoors. If you're in a low-light setting, it gets tough, and pushing up the ISOs might only buy you a stop or two on the shutterspeed.
Here are some suggestions.
--First, keep the zoom at it's widest wide-angle setting (actually you get almost no barrel distortion if you keep it one stop in) and get closer to the subject. That'll keep your f-stop down to f2.6, your widest aperture setting on that camera. That'll buy you a few more stops on the shutterspeed as well.
--2nd, take the shot in Tv mode so you can dictate the shutterspeed. Obviously...try to keep it at 1/120s or faster.
--Keep it at the maximum usable ISO for the print you intend to make. You knew this one. Usually I don't push the A-series cams past 400ISO for high-quality 4x6 prints though. Those ultra-tiny photosensors are really not that sensitive. One of these days someone other than Fuji will start developing quality high-performance CCD sensors. Until then, we're stuck with lousy high-ISO performance. and lots of smudgy noise reduction on 800+ISO.
--Practice your ability to pan the camera with the subject. In other words...blur the background...not the subject. It's a tough skill to master, but you'll be much more capable for it, and it'll add a wonderful sense of dynamics, which is what kids are all about, right?
--Use flash (or the "kids and pets" scene mode if you have it, or the action mode) if you don't mind the unnatural lighting, and for those spur-of-the-moment/last resort cases when it's just too dark. Adjust the flash exposure or EV down if you find it washing out your subject too much.

My daughter has a Canon Powershot SD450 and it has an action setting on the speed wheel on top of the camera. It looks like a person running. If you have something like that, use it ... it's for 'stop action' type photos. That way, both the background and the moving figure will be clear. Unfortunately, compact digital cameras don't allow you to adjust the aperture or f-stops (how far open the lens actually is) on the lens of your camera ... that's what controls the amount of light exposed in you picture.
You can turn off the flash manually and should do so if the light is decent. Keep in mind that the average 'throw' on a flash is only 10 to 15 feet, so if you're trying to light something 20 feet away, everything in front of it will be really bright, but the object you want lit, will remain dark.
