How to operate a flash drive?

I recently purchased a 2.0 GB Sandisk Cruzer Micro USB Flash Drive with U3. This is my first time using a flash drive, so I don't know what to do. I need to know how to save, open files and everything. Tell me everything you know about flashdrives and tips on do's and don'ts. Thanks.

How to operate a flash drive?
Stick it in the USB port.

For some, a window will pop up, showing you what's in your flash drive. If this doesn't happen, right-click on START and click Explore. Then go down to the bottom on the left somewhere and you should either see the name of your drive or something like "removeable disk" or something like that. Click it, and that will be the window that shows what is on your flash drive.

Keep that window up. Now, open My Documents or where-ever the thing is that you want on it and click and drag that item to the window of your flash drive. It will then save it onto the flash drive.

When you are done, I guess you can just pull out the drive, but its better to eject it. If you see a little icon in the task bar at the bottom right corner where the clock is that looks like a gray box with a little green arrow, right-click that and click Safely Remove Hardware. Then when the box comes up, choose your flash drive and click stop and then okay and then okay again. Then you can take it out.

If you have something on your drive that you wantto save onto your computer, stick it into the USB port. Go to that same place in the explore START menu that you went before. Right-click on what you want to save and select "send to..." and then like My Documents or whatever. Then just remove the drive.

That's about it.
Reply:You save just like you would in any regular folder on the computer. They are very simple to use. All you need to know is where your USB port is on your computer and plug it in. It is literally like using a folder on your computer. Also, before you take the USB drive out, you must right click on the icon on the bottom right of your screen by the time that has a little green arrow on it. Then click "Safely Remove Hardware" or "Stop Hardware" before you remove it. This will stop the data from becoming corrupt.
Reply:First you have to configure the U3. You didn't mention if your running Windows or what.Plug the drive into a spare USB2.0 slot and -when prompted- select "Speed up my system" when prompted. This is only when you want to speed things up,because it won't save anything for this purpose.OK, if the option doesn't appear, or you want to override Windows Vista's recommended settings, open My Computer, right-click your flash drive, choose properties and switch to the ReadyBoost tab.
Reply:With U3 just plug it in, you can do this with power on, then wait a little and a animated presentation will start after a little.

The most important thing is to click on the U3 and click on eject when you want to remove the drive

Other than that you can treat it just like any other drive insofar as adding removing files.
Reply:Assuming you have Windows.Plug the flash drive into the usb port. A window should pop out and say how should it treat the usb inserted. Click on the one that says view files (shows icon of a folder)

To put stuff in the flash drive just drag it in there. To delete stuff right click and click the one that says delete. One rules is to NEVER EVER PULL OUT THE FLASH DRIVE BEFORE EJECTING IT THE PROPER WAY. The proper way is easy. Go to the bottom right hand corner of you computer and it should show a little grey thing with a green arrow overlapping it. Click on it and choose the one that says eject usb flash drive. It should then say ready to eject or something. And take good care of it, never leave it lying on the floor or anything like that.
Reply:Connect it to your USB. That's all you need to do. It will automatically install its programs on your computer. Then an icon shows up on your task bar. Clicking on it will take you to the U3 console. There you see "Explore my Files" or something like that depending on the brand of your Flash drive. Click on it and it will show you all the files you have on the drive. You can also access the files the same way you access other drives files such a CD drive.
