How do I best film moving flash light trails in a dark room?

Hi! I have a sony cyber-shot DSC-W1 camera and I want to make a mpeg movie of some flash light trails in a very dark room. off the options I have is


- EV


- Focus


- Metering Mode


- White Balance





What kind of setting should I use to achieve the best result?

As stated you will have to be on a tripod to do this. Set your camera in Manual mode if you have it and set it to the longest exposure you can and your SD card will determine how long you will be able to record a Mpg on it (and maybe your camera). So in other words you may consider getting a bigger card. Also do not turn the flashlight into the camera or it will ruin your exposure. Try and find a small but very good flashlight (LED) type work real good.

Reply:You will have to mount your camera on a tripod and set the shutter for the full 30 seconds your camera allows. Have the lens at its widest focal length and wide open at f2.8. Turn the flash off. That may be enough but I honestly doubt it. Usually what you want to do could take up to a 60 second exposure or longer. But hey! Its worth a try.
