Is there any laptop manufacturer who uses flash memories for their hard drive?

My Sony PCG TR-5 needs a new hard drive. I want to replace it with a flash memory if it is possible. If not I would like to buy a laptop using flash memory as the hard drive. Any ideas?

no but theres 3rd party ones http://www.simpletech.com/
Reply:You're looking for whats called "Solid State drives". They are as they seem, no moving or mechanical parts. The drives work by utilising memory chips.

At the moment though, they are very expensive for what capacity you get. I'd stick with conventional drives for now unless you've got that kind of money to spend.

Try googling "Solid state drives" for more information %26amp; prices on them.
Reply:Asus Eee PC

They use a Solid State Hard Drive base on flash memory.
